Dr. D. Robert Dechaine, Professor of Liberal Studies and Communication Studies at California State University Los Angeles, recently joined the Philosophy School of Phish for a Google Hangouts discussion of his article, “Affect and Embodied Understanding in Musical Experience.”

Students generated the questions in response to Professor Dechaine’s article, which you can read here.  We then met online for an informal discussion.  In addition to the Q&A, he also tells us about his first Phish concert.  He admires the band’s improvisational style and called them a “brave act”.
